The Practice of Poetry: Poetic Conversations with Mícheál Ó Súilleabháin
‘I sit and watch the mountain,
engulfed in light loneliness.
Primitive trepidation
all clarity and wonder,
shuffling my cold feet
feeling out the morning,
wondering, who would hear this
barefoot verse and find solace?…
-an excerpt from ‘Burren Unbroken’ by Mícheál Ó Súilleabháin
From his collection EARLY MUSIC
We will set new challenges and exercises in subject matter, technique and structure for our private poetic practice. We also have the option of working with aspects of poetic recitation, reading aloud the poems we visit, finding our own voice, confidence and more understanding of the elusive world of poetry.
Mícheál is a poet and singer. He has dedicated his life to the curation of poetic and musical repertoire that is accessible and inspirational. He is a natural teacher with hundreds of hours of teaching experience online with one on one clients. His first book of poetry, Early Music, is published by Many Rivers Press (Seattle). This Poems of Life series is a new offering and is an exciting new offering to those who wish to explore the world of poetry in an informal and conversational style.
